It has been a little more than 2 weeks that A’s exams got over and the relief that came with it is a quite huge one.
One thing that we very badly wanted to do once the exams got over was thanking the teachers. We have always been in awe of her teachers from the very beginning, the affection they used to shower when the kids were in primary, the guidance they used to give and the confidence they used to instill during middle and senior phase, their dedication and everything about them was very admirable. During the exams, one cannot count the number of messages and calls that must have been exchanged between the teachers and the students to get the doubts clarified. One would get the answers from them through out the day, late into the night and early in the morning. Their patience and dedication towards their duty made me fall head over heels in love with them.
Once the exams got over, I discussed with A couple of options about how we could go and thank them all. But one thing came after another and we got lost in the flow and this task took a back seat. Last week, her class teacher called her asking her to come down to school and pick up some certificates. We didn’t want to let go of this God sent opportunity and tried to act on it in the little time we had.
A painted small cards with a hand-written and heart-felt Thank You and we bought pens. It is a very small gesture but a truly felt one.
Yesterday morning, we met all her teachers and thanked them all with these. We couldn’t meet three of them as they weren’t available but we plan to meet and thank them at the next opportunity. We met her primary class teachers too and the pleasure that we felt after those interactions is something we would cherish for a very long time.
Each of her teachers has been a pillar of support for A and has left a lasting impact on her. I cannot thank them enough and I hope she gets to meet them often in future too and wish the bond strengthens.
