A full circle !

A had a school picnic scheduled for today and so has listed out, collected, and packed all the stuff she was planning to carry along, a day before the big day. Everything looked good so far except that as she woke up in the morning, she realised that she did not like the Kidzee cap, which she had planned to carry. Now, how can we complete an event with no last minute drama ?

Since we couldn’t think of any substitute at that time of the day, MIL took her from our flat on the fourth floor to V’s cousin’s place on the third floor of our apartment, in the hope of finding something which could satisfy her. And as luck would have it, they came back with not one, but two caps.

As soon as they stepped into home with the two probable substitutes, both V and me couldn’t help smiling looking at those. For they were the ones which we had used exactly ten years back, when we were in US, and on coming back, we gave them to V’s cousins, assuming that we would never have to use them again.

Who expected that there would come one day, when the cousins would have grown up and a new generation would have started and the caps would come back to us to complete a full circle 🙂

The then me and the now A !

My Marauder’s Map

Among all the new things at the new workplace, this third party software which is used as virtual office is totally new to me. And as I keep using it more, it appears to me as a Marauder’s Map of Harry Potter fame.

This software opens up as a map, with all virtual meeting rooms, cabins, lobby and all and each person is identified by a coloured circle with a head set over it, resembling a person’s head. And the circle keeps blinking when the corresponding person is talking. So whenever I open this up, I find people moving into different meeting rooms, talking and having conversations and it looks as if I can locate everyone the way it happens with Harry Potter and the gang 🙂

If only I can get all the work done also with the tip of a magical wand !

Midnight Magic

Of the multiple things the duo, that we are, is crazy about, food tops the list.

Otherwise, how else would someone define us going to eat this bun, at 1:16 A.M., after finishing watching the movie ‘Baby’

This bun, widely known as ‘Watchman Ka bun’, made and served in the little watchman’s room opposite Karvy building in Banjara Hills , opens only around 11 in the night and goes on around till 2. And the source of my information says that the cars always keep coming for this bun, which is made fresh on demand. Apparently, the non-veg wala bun is more famous but given that am a veggie, how could I give it a miss inspite of it being a little less popular 😉

And before I forget, the movie was good.

Food Tag !

The very very sweet Vidhya was so sweet to tag me one more time, sweeter to remind me yet again !

Although a little late, am here taking up the tag ! Reasons for the long delay will come along in future posts.

13 questions and my answers :

1. What is the first dish that you cooked?

If I remember correctly, my cousin was so worried that I have reached marriageable age and still have got no clue about ABCs of cooking, and in a desperate attempt to teach me something made me cook this besan curry that goes along with poori.

Kuch Khatta Kuch Meetha

When a tailor promises to get the alteration done for 60 bucks and then changes to 80 bucks stating some senseless reasons, and even after that does it in a way which you had specifically asked not to do, it can be so irritating. Which was my Khatta part 😦

When your little one says she wants to gift you something, as she gives you the credit for her good grades , and makes some ear – ring holders , and then goes on to capture them in a photo, it can be so pleasing. Which was my Meetha part 🙂

Life’s like that !

A phase ends

For a new beginning !

Yesterday marks the end of my service at the company for which I had been working, to start a new beginning at another one. I say, another company instead of new company, because it happens to be my previous company.

There have been mixed feelings for me through the whole episode as a change / shift was not on the cards. And then suddenly this opening came, an old friend approached me, I gave it a try just because I couldn’t say no, and then everything worked out well. While the prospect of going back to old company sounded exciting, the thought of leaving my comfort zone, well-established role / work, friends et al and the anxiety of how the reaction would be from the team upon my resignation, made me think twice to come to a decision. Though it was a little tough to make one, the decision has been made, the process is over and am relieved from my duties.

The best part of the whole thing is that my boss, super boss and super super boss and everyone have been so understanding of my decision and have stated and restated that I would be welcome back at any time in the future. I felt so relieved to hear that and was glad that it all ended well.

I look forward to the new beginning which is gonna start next week !

p.s. Am going to stay at home for the rest of the week and I hope it feels longer than a week 🙂

Shopping gone crazy !

It all started with this which I liked almost instantly…

And then I picked up this which I felt was priced quite reasonably…

And then this too caught my attention as this was also at the same price…

And then we came home to have lunch and take a break…

And then this got delivered home from Myntra which we had ordered online couple of days back…

And then this too got delivered…

And off we went for another round of shopping for A this time…

We got her this…

And this…

And that’s how my day went shopping crazily 🙂

Happy New Year !

With lots of dreams, renewed energy, resolution-like ideas of trying to read more, learn new stuff, not worry too much and learn being happy in the true sense, be a better person in all possible ways, accept life as it comes, and on and on, here I welcome the New Year, wishing it to be a very happy, healthy, prosperous and successful one for everyone !

Inspired by our favourite Milly Molly Mandy and her friends, V made these super simple and delicious toffees today and A was super excited and happy to share them with all of her gang !

Life is beautiful ! I just hope to be able to see the beauty at all times !
