Real pleasure!

We keep visiting malls good number of times, sometimes just the two of us, sometimes with couple of friends, and sometimes with lots of friends.

We walk along all the branded shops for clothing, footwear, accessories and what-not, paying no attention at times, having a glance at them from a distance at times, going in and scanning all the price tags and coming out with a shocked, unbelievable state of mind at times, and actually trying them out and buying at times.

We shop at these places, but our hands have never been loaded with so many bags that carrying gets tough.

We like the products here, but we never had the urge to own everything we come across.

We respect the brands, but we could never understand the value for some of them, if not all !

And then there are these places like General Bazaar at Hyderabad, where the roads are filled with shops displaying every possible item in the world, showcasing products with decent quality, all bright colours catching your eye from everywhere,Β  people of all ages walking with loads of bags, and all at very reasonable prices, luring you into buying items that you hadn’t even planned for !

This place gives us the real pleasure of shopping, the bags and hearts are always full at the end with not so big blow on the wallet!  We just can’t stop loving you, our dear General Bazaar πŸ™‚

This is what we got, the real pleasure, when we had an impromptu shopping time last Sunday !

Any wild guesses on what the above collection could be ???

6 years back, around at the same time of the year, after browsing a lot over the net, scanning through all the books that could be reached, reaching out to all possible resources, conducting polls at home, making number of eliminations, these were the lists we arrived at for picking a name from, for the little one to be born !

Surprisingly, the name we finally chose was never on our lists, never came up in our discussions and the one that I had never heard earlier πŸ™‚

Found this piece of paper when clearing up stuff this morning and for a reason that simply can’t be stated, I didn’t want to trash this and wanted to treasure, and so here it lands up as a post!

Heights of craziness!

When did we get up for the drive?

At 5 in the morning!

Where did we drive to?

Hyderabad airport, which is about 35 kms from home

What was visited there?

McDonald’s  !

Why did we visit?

To have Egg n Cheese, Hashbrowns and coffee as breakfast!

V being V, had this sudden urge to have this breakfast very early in the morning and this was how our day started today πŸ™‚
We were back at home by 8:30 A.M. after having completed a long drive, a yummy breakfast and a pleasant walk at the airport, not bad to start a day πŸ™‚

The voice !

I have heard frustration in it
I have heard fear in it
I have heard anxiety in it
I have heard anger in it
I have heard depression in it

And now,

I hear excitement in it
I hear happiness in it
I hear confidence in it
I hear hope in it
I hear joy in it, the voice of a dear friend.

The voice that has been filled with so much of gloom and negativity for the last couple of months owing to too many hard times on all possible fronts has taken a new turn now for the better.

The voice taking the form of a phone call from her yesterday night reassured my belief that tough times do keep cropping up now and then, but however tough they are, don’t last forever !

Keep moving on with positive spirits, how little they might be, until they are the only ones left πŸ™‚

Total Randomness!

Wanting to post something desperate but not knowing what to, has made me come up with this post of total randomness πŸ™‚

# Winter is at its peak in Hyderabad, can’t think of losing this coziness in less than a month, although getting up everyday seems to be an next to impossible task

# Heard of an upcoming Flea Market at Hyderabad, may or may not visit it?

# A’s dental checkup at school reminded me of her cavities that ought to be filled up :(, and I had been postponing it for months 😦

# Started reading Christmas Train and found it good so far, thanks to TGND, the reason that I picked up the book

# A is making me read to her two telugu short stories every night, and is finding them very funny,
Book courtesy : A’s grand parents got it from the Book Exhibition, and the additional attraction to this is that this particular book is titled A’s pet name

# Inspite of innumerable trails, couldn’t solve the snake cube puzzle and is making me want to break it into pieces :@

# A’s winter vacation starts tomorrow and lasts till 16th of Jan, can’t be bigger πŸ™‚

# A’s term exams commence on the day the school re-opens after the break 😦 mommy, think of some fool-proof strategy that makes A not forget her basics!

# Saturday was a big gathering of V’s friends with families, most of them meeting each other after a gap of over 10 years!

# The money collection for organizing the New Year Party at the apartment premises has begun, signs that the big day is getting closer

# My Niece took part in a dance in her School Annual Day, but refused to move her muscles even a little πŸ™‚

So how have you been everyone?

Mommy-Baby Talk!

Bed time and bath time are the times when A and I have a heart to heart talk, some of my precious moments and some samples of them go as :

Talk 1

A : Amma, I want to study only till 12th class and I don’t want to study Degree

Me : Feeling little astonished, But why ??

A : Because I don’t want to stay in hostel

Me : Feeling little surprised, Who told you about staying at hostel ?

A : Mama (V’s cousin is pursuing a degree currently staying at a hostel) stays far away for his degree and comes home only occasionally

Me : Smiling within, Everyone doesn’t have to stay at a hostel, your father stayed at home and has done it, and you atta has also done it that way

A : Feeling very happy, Really, is that so ? Then OK, I’ll study degree also.

Me : Feeling very relieved that A is OK for her higher education, I went off to sleep not disclosing that I have stayed at hostel πŸ™‚

Talk 2

A : I don’t want to go to school today

Me: Why so ??

A : Because I don’t know how to wash my butt

Me: Oh, ok, its quite simple, I can teach you right away in couple of minutes

A: Oh, is it that simple, then OK !

I tell her what to do and this was her reaction

A: But Amma, I don’t like to touch my butt 😦

Talk 3

A : Amma, where do small babies come from?

Me : Hmmm, God makes them…

A : But, where do we get them from?

Me : From the hospital…

A : But how do we know which baby is whose?

Me : Err, I don’t know, go to sleep and lets ask your grandmother tomorrow morning!

Go Goa!

Inspired by the reviews on TripAdvisor, we booked our stay at Santana, and we were pleasantly surpised by the fact that the reviews were not exaggerated and were true to the bit. The resort is spread across a vast space and is very well maintained, with the staff working very meticulously from dawn till dusk.

The rooms are named after forts, are quite spacious, have got a balcony, small dining area and are maintained spotless.

The breakfast is served by the poolside, around half of the seating is covered and the rest is in the open, spread across the wide lawns, which perfectly suits a lazy, elaborate and refreshing breakfast.
The food served at the restaurant is also mild and pretty good.

Glimpses of the resort

The swimming pool which is very very well maintained, a part of it is 2 feet and the rest is 4 feet, something very good for a family like us, where none knows swimming but loves water πŸ™‚

One additional attraction with the resort is that you walk a little across the lawn and you are the entrance of the Calamari Beach Shack

Awesome food, great live music every night, perfect view and the ambience that just takes you into a different world are what you find here!

Sun beds are spread all across, you also find lots of people coming over and offering pedicure services while you enjoy the beach!

To be continued…

My first blogger award!

Thanks a ton Paatiamma for the tag, you really made my day πŸ™‚

Hmmm… Am supposed to write 8 things about me, sounds not very easy but let me give it a shot !

8. I love being simple, dreaming big, basking in all little pleasures of life, appreciating all the wonderful things we are blessed with πŸ™‚
